[ He probably would have. At this early a point, he was still in that haze of waking up and just accepting whatever he was told without thinking too hard about it. ]

[ He was fine with sitting and lounging in a chair the whole time, ready to half-doze until he was needed. Not fully doze, as he still had a job and needed to finish that coffee, but to get the last of that grogginess worked out. Waiting while someone was getting ready was easy, after all. ]

[The shower is quick, and Niles steps out, dressed in pants, a hoodie, and a light shirt underneath. He's also holding a rather massive briefcase.]

This briefcase is not allowed to leave this apartment for the next 46 hours. We'll deliver it at 8 am two days from now.

[He places it in his lap, letting him look at it.]

Which means, you and I must stay here the entire time.

[ Well, he definitely wasn't expecting that to be tossed into his lap. Well, not tossed, but the information about it gave that effect. He's not about to open or try to look in the briefcase, though. If it's full of stuff, he'd rather not cause a mess.

And then those details start to sink in. ]

[ Two days straight in some stranger's apartment. He wouldn't have worn his usual uniform if that was the case. Oh, he's more than just a little ticked at this. ]

That's the kind of thing where you at least tell people to pack before showing up.

I specifically said 48 hours. If you didn't pack, that's on you.

[Did he think he'd get to go home in between and change? Leave Niles alone? Fat chance.]

Anyways. I have a friend who can pick up things for you.

I certainly wouldn't trust him with money in the 12 digit amount, but he can get your clothes.

You never said we'd be in an apartment the entire time.

[ There were a lot of things that weren't shared about this whole thing. Then again, Niles probably had a feeling that this is how it was going to happen. ]

Yeah, I'm not gonna let some stranger into my apartment. Tch... I'll have to bother someone later to grab some stuff.

Where do you think the money was going to be going?

[Out of pure curiosity. Then again, it wasn't truly clear whether he actually thought Shizuo should know this stuff or if he was just having fun.]

Anyways. What do you want for breakfast?

How the hell should I know? I thought you just needed protection while doing your usual shit, whatever that was.

[ When he and Tom collected money from targets, he just held onto it as they continued on with their jobs. It never involved staying in one place the entire time. ]

Huh? I already ate before coming here. It's not like I knew it was going to be like this, so I went through my usual routine...

I'm stopping doing my usual shit because you don't want to deal with anything illegal.

[He's a prostitute. That's not exactly legal, Shizuo. Not his kind anyways.]

Coffee? Tea? ...Milk?

It's the money that mostly needs watching, right? I can be in another room while you're working. As long as it doesn't harm people, I don't really give a shit about what you do.

[ He just can't be directly involved with things like theft, murder, or anything else like that. He's held in police custody enough without being near any of that.

... Also, who do you get your information from for those suggestions? He was drinking water at Russia Sushi. ]

... Why're you offering milk? That's not exactly something people usually suggest.

It's fine, it's fine. I usually book a little while in advance, but I don't have anyone.

[Mainly because he wants Shizuo to fuck him. Just saying. That's a thing he really wants.]

Because it's about to go bad.

[He doesn't know that much about you, Shizuo, chill.]

[ Niles would just need drugs for Shizuo to fuck someone that's practically a stranger. Not that that would be any trouble for someone like Niles to get.

Honestly, no matter what those options were, he'd prefer to have milk in there anyway. As tough as he was, Shizuo's insides weren't so different from most people's. ]

... If it doesn't smell weird or anything, I'll take the milk.

[He's got plenty of jobs for Shizuo to do. And plenty of money to give him.

He brings over the bottle of milk.]

It smells fine.

[Before going back and starting to make eggs.]

[ While he has no qualms about drinking straight from the bottle normally, it feels weird to do that in some stranger's home. Starting to get up from his seat, he'll ask; ]

Where d'you keep your cups?

[He points to a cupboard beside him.]

That's where the coffee and tea cups are if want something later.

Right, thanks.

[ He'll just go get that to pour out a cup of milk and return the rest to the fridge for now. Given that it's a stranger's house, essentially, he's being polite and everything. ]

[He does appreciate it. Although, Shizuo could have just drank from the bottle if he wanted to.]

Are you sure you don't want anything to eat?

[bartenderizing]

[ Well, he grew up with manners just as much as he grew up with milk. ]

Like I said, I thought this wouldn't be so different from my usual job, so I ate my fill before leaving.

[He begins to plate his breakfast, standing and eating it.]

I do like keeping things interesting.

Interesting. By... Not sitting when you eat?

[ Was he that hungry? ]

It hurts to sit a little bit still.

What's your regular job like?

[bartenderizing]

Pretty normal.

[ Then again, what counted as normal in Ikebukuro? ]

It's just making sure Tom's safe when we go to collect money for the debts people rack up. Sometimes people fight it, but there's nothing particularly unique or unexpected about it.

Sounds perfect for a man of your power. I know you're not violent, but you certainly are strong.

[He let out a chuckle again.]

I bet he appreciates the help. He'll be okay while you're here?

[ He had his own opinions involving his 'strength' and 'power.' It was all a pain, not 'perfect.' ]

He's the one that did me the favor of working with him in the first place. Besides, if he wasn't okay with it, I wouldn't be here. You'd have just gotten the money back and that'd have been it. So you should be thanking him.
